Sequoia Wins Federal Tech Transfer Award for Stabilization Technology
September 12, 2007 - Bellingham, WA
Sequoia Technologies, Inc. announced today that it received the 2007 Award for Excellence in Technology Transfer by the Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer.
The award honors outstanding work in the process of transferring federally funded technology to the private sector. Nominees for the award are judged by representatives from industry, state and local government, academia, and federal laboratories.
Sequoia was selected for this award because of its pioneering work in developing and commercializing an advanced stabilized gimbal technology. With Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Phase I and Phase II funding from the Air Force and Missile Defense Agency, Sequoia has developed the technology to produce lightweight, high performance, and low cost stabilization systems for various military applications. In addition, Sequoia has successfully commercialized the technology into a high definition stabilized camera system product for bringing unprecedented “in the action” coverage of high profile events ranging from NFL football to the Academy Awards.
